We believe that the best way to carry out our mission, to have the greatest impact and to reach as many people in a meaningful way as possible - is by working alongside organisation with trusted and established
OsNosh Community Café & Garden- bringing people together
Based at The Centre in Oswestry, our community kitchen uses surplus food to create delicious, nutritious meals. Our wonderful volunteers collect good food from local stores and suppliers that would have otherwise gone to waste, we then share it with our local community.
Everyone is welcome to join us, be it for tea and coffee, a delicious lunch or to pick up some bits and pieces from our food share table. It’s run on a pay as you feel basis, so donations are always welcome but not essential!
Opening hours: Wednesday & Friday 10am - 1pm
The OsNosh Garden - whether you are a seasoned gardener or would like to learn more about growing, our community garden will have something for you. It’s a calm green space open to all…
Learning - skills and knowledge for everyone
We believe everyone has the right to good food, as well as the knowledge and skills required to feed themselves well, for less money with care for the environment.
From teaching primary school students about stopping food waste with our partners at The New Saints Football Foundation, to teaching STaR Housing tenants to eat well for less using slow cookers - OsNosh is involved in a variety of educational projects where we share our passion for all things food related.
We also offer one off workshops and courses to the public, such as our ‘winter wellness’ one-offs organised by the wonderful Lesley, fermenting and bread making workshops, and Master Composter sessions….
Our food - Colourful & Creative | Saving Surplus & Working with Local producers
If you ask someone about what makes OsNosh unique, we bet one of their answers would be - Our Food…
Whether this how inventive way we use surplus food in our cooking is at the Community Café, how teaching about garnish and colour give our students ownership of their food, or how we pride working with and championing the local producers we use to deliver our events, catering and fundraisers.
Did you know we do catering events?
From catering at hyper-local markets, to providing food at community events - we only take on commercial events that align with our values, such as:
Promoting access to good food for all
Offering opportunities and access to work, for those in need of support
Cutting food miles and promoting seasonal cooking by working with local producers
